The Spath Peninsula is a non-icy and 65 km long peninsula that forms the northeastern branch of Snow Hill Island in the Antarctic Weddell Sea .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1995 after the British paleontologist Leonard Spath (1882-1957), author of a paper on ammonites in the area of James Ross Island for the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey .
