Use for snow-making systems |
The reservoir ldalp was a dam above Ischgl in the same mountain station Silvrettaseilbahn AG. The pool was used to store water that was used in winter to make snow on the slopes in the Silvretta Arena . The dam , built in 1992, formed a storage lake with a capacity of 32,000 m³. Because the lake was in a landslide area, the supervisory authorities revoked its operating license at the end of the 2016/17 winter season, so that a replacement was necessary. This was found in the shape of the heart-shaped Viderböden reservoir , which was built a little further from the Idalp, in a geologically safe area and has a much larger retention volume than the old lake with 52,000 m³. After the storage function was taken over by the Viderböden storage pond, the Idalpsee was dismantled and converted into a pond landscape.
