The Speikbodenhütte is a private alpine hut in the Lasörling group . It is about 1.5 hours' walk northwest of St. Veit in Defereggen in East Tyrol and is at an altitude of 2079 m above sea level. A.
history
In 1982 the Leo Stemberger family started building it. The hut was opened in 1984. In 2001 the extension for overnight stays took place. In addition, a hydropower plant was built to supply the hut with energy.
The new tenant, Thorsten Heinl, has been running the Speikbodenhütte since May 2016. The apartments are now available for rent in summer.
Ascent
- From St. Veit in Defereggen approx. 2 hours walk
- From the Oberholz car park, about 1.5 hours walk.
The hut can be reached by car via a driveway. The road is popular with mountain bikers in summer and is used as a toboggan run in winter .
