The Split Rock (from the English loosely translated Cleaved rock ) is an oval and a column criss cliff rocks in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 150 m northwest of Janus Island off the southwest coast of Anvers Island .
A team working at the Palmer station gave the rock its descriptive name in 1972.
