The sports complex Stadlau is a sports complex in the Vienna district Stadlau and venue of the Austrian football third division FC Stadlau and home to the athletes of the ATSV OMV Auersthal.

location

The site is located east of the Danube in the Stadlau district, which is part of Vienna's 22nd district, Donaustadt . In the immediate vicinity is the Erzherzog-Karl-Strasse train station , where regional trains to the border regions to the Czech Republic and Slovakia stop. To the east of the sports grounds, the Südosttangente Wien motorway runs past, with an average of 170,000 vehicles per day, it is the busiest road in Austria.

Equipment of the sports facility

The sports facility, which opened in 1949, is spread over a total of 60,000 m². The main square is a multifunctional stadium with a capacity of 5000 to 6000 spectators. On the west side of the square there is a covered grandstand with 1200 seats. There are grass walls on the east and south sides.

Below the grandstand, in addition to the six changing rooms including wet rooms, the offices, the technical rooms and the VIP area are located.

In addition to the stadium, there are two other floodlit soccer fields. One is an artificial grass pitch, the other a grass pitch.

Immediately north of the stadium is a climbing hall with indoor and outdoor climbing options.

In May 2020, the city ​​audit office published a report that the Stadlau sports complex is in dire need of renovation.

The main user of the stadium is the regional division FC Stadlau, who played in the State League A from 1954 to 1957 , the top division in Austria at the time. From that time, audience numbers of 5500 visitors in February 1955 against the reigning champions Rapid Wien , in the following season 5000 against the same opponent and 5000 visitors against Austria Vienna in November 1954 and in September 1955 are recorded.

In addition to football for FC Stadlau, the stadium also serves as a sports facility for athletics for ATSV OMV Auersthal.
