Sportradio.ch
sportradio.ch was a Swiss internet radio specializing in live sports coverage.
Companies
It was founded in December 2003 by Adrian Fetscherin and was the first national sports radio at the time. In 2005 sportradio.ch was supplemented by sporttv.ch (an internet television station). The offers were free of charge. At sporttv.ch and sportradio.ch mainly freelancers worked, some of whom also worked for other Swiss radio stations. The company's headquarters were in Zurich , near the Hardturm and Letzigrund stadium .
radio
Depending on the sport and event, the broadcasts could be viewed in television or radio format. The radio format reported mainly on football and ice hockey games, but also on skiing and cycling events, as the corresponding image rights were too expensive or had already been given to other media. Basically every football and ice hockey game in the top national league was reported live.
watch TV
In the TV format, mainly sports and events were broadcast that usually did not enjoy a large media presence. Sporttv.ch had meanwhile broadcast events from the fields of athletics , horse racing , sailing , triathlon , floorball and volleyball . In addition, sporttv.ch has been producing its own daily TV magazine called "sporttv.ch-daily" since the end of 2005. In this moderated program, there were mostly interviews on the weekends on the events broadcast on sportradio.ch. During the week, articles on many other sports were produced, for example the soap box race .
Since July 2006 sporttv.ch has also produced the TV magazine for FC Zurich . The program appeared once a week and contained a talk and various background reports.
Closure
The sports radio and sports TV were closed in June 2008 after they were bought by Swisscom , without any major fuss . Swisscom hopes that the deletion will mean that users of the offer will increasingly switch to paid offers.
