The Spreeler Mühle is a former mill in Ennepetal .

geography

The Spreeler Mühle is located in the Ennepetal village of Spreel, right on the city limits of Ennepetal and Radevormwald , about two kilometers south of the Königsfeld district on federal highway 483 .

It is located on the Spreeler Bach , which in its further course flows after about two kilometers in the Ennepetal hamlet Mühlenfeld into the root of the Beyenburger reservoir (an impoundment of the Wupper ). The factory of the former Hindrichs-Auffermann KG and the Remlingrade bus stop on bus line 626 from Wuppertal to Radevormwald are located there at the end of the valley . The Spreeler Bach has represented the border between Rhineland and Westphalia in the lower reaches since the early Middle Ages . The Wappenweg (Ennepetaler Stadtrundweg) and the main hiking route Graf-Engelbert-Weg of the Sauerland Mountain Association lead past the mill .

Noticeable is an extension on the left side of the main building and a bay window on the right side of the front. The restaurant and excursion bar in the mill was closed in April 2011 after more than 80 years of management due to a lack of successors.

history

The mill was first mentioned in the 16th century. It was initially a tinder mill , which was later converted into a grain mill . In the 1920s the mill was closed due to a lack of a license. In 1930 it was converted into an inn, which was run by three generations of a family until 2011. The building is to be converted into a residential building.
