Spring Airlines ( Chinese 春秋 航空公司 , Pinyin Chūnqīu Hángkōng Gōngsī - "Spring and Autumn Airline", short: 春 航 ) is a Chinese low-cost airline based in Shanghai and based at Shanghai-Hongqiao Airport . It is a subsidiary of the travel company Shanghai Spring International Travel Service .
history
Spring Airlines was founded as the country's first low-cost airline and received its operating license on May 26, 2004. In July 2005, it took delivery of its first Airbus A320-200 from Lotus Air . Flight operations began on July 18 with a flight from Shanghai to Yantai . At the same time, a flight to Guilin was added to the program. On April 1, 2009, the airline went public in Shanghai. The largest shareholder is Spring Airlines with 60%, followed by Shanghai Spring International Travel Service. Spring Airlines owns 33% of the Japanese Spring Airlines Japan , founded in 2013 , which owns a pure Boeing 737 fleet. This operates domestic flights within Japan and international flights to China .

Spring Airlines serves destinations within the People's Republic of China , Japan, Korea and Thailand from its Chinese bases in Shanghai ( Shanghai-Pudong Airport and Shanghai-Hongqiao Airport ), Shenyang , Shenzhen , Shijiazhuang , Yangzhou Airport and the base in Kansai , Japan.
