The initiative Städtebund Schmölln - Gößnitz is a city association of the two East Thuringian cities in the Altenburger Land , which was signed on Thursday, 5th September 2002 by the mayors Wolfgang Scholz (Gößnitz) and Herbert Köhler (Schmölln). The Gößnitz City Council approved the contract on August 28, 2002 and the Schmöllner City Council on September 5.

target

The aim of the city association of the two relatively small cities is to strengthen economic and municipal development. In addition, the attractiveness of both cities including their districts is to be increased. The mayor of the city of Gößnitz, Wolfgang Scholz, is a member of the initiative group Schmölln-Gößnitz in the city council. A completely joint administration as in the two northern Thuringian cities of Leinefelde and Worbis zu Leinefelde-Worbis is not planned for the time being. The industrial network is located between the Gößnitz district of Nörditz and the Schmöllner district of Nitzschka . By 2011, the developed areas are to be offered for sale to manufacturing companies.

Verbund site

The network site extends over an area of 74 hectares, with free land with a total size of 302,000 square meters. There is a direct connection to the state road 1358 as well as to the A4 five kilometers away with the Schmölln-Schönhaide junction, other important connecting roads are the B93 through Gößnitz and the B7 through Schmölln, which each run approximately two kilometers away. The rail network is well developed in both cities, and goods can be loaded at the Gößnitz train station , two kilometers away . In addition, Altenburg-Nobitz Airport is not far away.

The network location is fully developed and manufacturing is expressly desired, but retail trade is excluded, and there is also a direct connection to local public transport. Furthermore, there are residential construction sites 500 - 1000 meters away.

Purchase of usable space

The total of around 30 hectares will only be sold at the highest bid, but there is no purchase obligation.
