history
In 1846, the Städtische Sparkasse zu Schwelm was founded. The first rendant (cashier, treasurer) was Wilhelm Stroomann
In 1882/1883 W. Strohmann's term of office ended after 36 years. He was replaced by the new renter Theodor Pantel.
In 1909, Hermann Wollmerstädt became the first director of the Sparkasse, and in 1913 the Sparkasse moved with him into a building specially built for the Sparkasse.
1933, during the process of conformity , H. Wollmerstädt was allowed to keep his office as Sparkasse director.
In 1935 H. Wollmerstädt was replaced by Dietrich Hondelmann.
In 1945 the roof of the savings bank building started to burn during an attack by the Allies and burned out completely.
1945 Fritz Uellendahl becomes the new Sparkasse director.
In 1956, the Sparkasse temporarily moved into its current headquarters for renovation work.
In 1957 the renovation phase was ended and the move into the "new" savings bank in the old savings bank building was due.
In 1965 Anton Welling was elected the new Sparkasse director and board member .
1962–1964 the first branches in the Möllenkotten district, on the Loh and in the west were inaugurated (expansion and modernization 1989/1992/1992).
In 1971, two further branches were opened on Winterberg and Oberloh (expansion and modernization in 1996).
1977 During the last 20 years construction continued on the provisional property into which the Sparkasse had moved in 1956 and in 1977 the Sparkasse now moves into a new building.
In 1989 Franz Dörendahl became the new Sparkasse director and board member. His deputies were Karl-Heinz Tötter and Lothar Feldmann.
In 1993, the Sparkasse Board was newly formed. It now consists of Lothar Feldmann and Roland Zimmer.
In 2013 all branches will finally be integrated into the completely modernized main office and closed. Roland Zimmer is retiring and is replaced by Michael Lindermann.
Since February 2016, the Sparkasse Management Board has consisted of Michael Lindermann and Johannes Schulz, after Lothar Feldmann retired.
