The Feuerbach municipal tram (SSF) was a regional tram in Württemberg that ran from Feuerbach via Weil im Dorf to Gerlingen from 1926 to 1933 . After the takeover by the Stuttgart trams  (SSB) on January 1, 1934, the line was integrated into their network. Today, the underground lines U6 and U13 mostly follow the former SSF route.

At the beginning of the 20th century, many of the communities north of Stuttgart were connected to the network of Stuttgart suburban trams or to the Royal Württemberg State Railways . These were the communities of Feuerbach in the Stuttgart District Office , Zuffenhausen in the Ludwigsburg District Office and Korntal in the Leonberg District Office .

The largest communities in the Leonberg Regional Office remained unaffected: Weil im Dorf and Gerlingen . At the beginning of 1913 a suburban tram from Feuerbach via Weil im Dorf to Gerlingen was supposed to be built by the municipalities and the Stuttgart trams  (SSB). Approval was granted on March 28, 1914. Due to disagreements about the route between Feuerbach and Weil im Dorf and the outbreak of World War I , however, construction did not take place. After the end of the war, none of the parties involved had the capital to build the tram. Further offers from the SSB failed due to resistance from the communities.

In 1925, the representatives of the communities in Weil im Dorf, Gerlingen and the city of Feuerbach agreed in a meeting to apply for approval for a tram themselves. The Hecker & Co. company was commissioned to provide an expert opinion. Further negotiations with the SSB were unsuccessful, so that the neighboring communities decided to build and operate the tram themselves.

On January 18, 1926, construction of the tram began without the approval of the Ministry. In further discussions, in which the Ministry of Labor and representatives of the official bodies were also involved, it was agreed on the exact route and that the concession for the operation of the tram should go to the city of Feuerbach. Construction still continued without a permit. Six railcars and four trailer cars were also ordered from the Esslingen machine factory .

The first railcar arrived in Feuerbach on December 17, 1926, and the next day permission was given to build and operate the line. The tram started operating on December 30, 1926.

As early as 1927, the number of passengers rose significantly, so that another railcar and four sidecars had to be ordered from the Esslingen machine factory; In 1928 and 1929 another two railcars and two trailer cars followed. Due to a lack of space in the Feuerbach depot, a wagon hall was also built in Gerlingen. In October 1929, the SSF and SSB rail networks in Feuerbach were connected to one another at two points.

On May 1, 1933, the city of Feuerbach-Weil in the village was incorporated into the city of Stuttgart, so that the SSF was also transferred to the city of Stuttgart. The management was transferred to the SSB. On January 1, 1934, the SSF merged with the line, rolling stock and personnel through purchase from the city of Stuttgart by the SSB. In April the line was given line number 23. The technical differences that continued to separate the line from the rest of the SSB network were eliminated by the Stuttgart trams by May 5, 1935. On that day, line 13 ran from Cannstatt via the Pragwirtshaus and Feuerbach for the first time to Weil in the village. The SSF had now been fully integrated into the SSB.
