The Chapel of St-Corentin

St-Corentin is a Roman Catholic chapel on the Île de Sein in Brittany . The chapel is registered in the register of cultural heritage in France.

history

The chapel, consecrated to St. Corentin , the patron saint of the Quimper diocese , dates back to the 16th century and was built on the site of an older church. The chapel, which is exposed almost unprotected to the Atlantic on the west side of the flat Île de Sein, probably had to be rebuilt in the 18th century and was in poor structural condition at the beginning of the 20th century. At the request of Abbé Marzin, it was restored using the old stone material and rededicated on August 13, 1972. The chapel has a wooden altar inside that comes from the Carmelite Church in Brest .
