General

Salzmünde was strongly influenced by the entrepreneur Johann Gottfried Boltze from Gödewitz . This building at Johann-Gottfried-Boltze Straße 9 is his home. In other places such houses were often referred to as castles, but this was never the case here. The building with corner bay window , balcony, risalit and figure niche looks rather modest compared to the neighboring company buildings such as the Salzmünde warehouse to the northeast and the sugar factory to the south. It also served as a residence for his heirs and was mentioned in the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie in 1876 . It was not until his son-in-law Carl Wentzel later moved from Salzmünde to Teutschenthal into a house that he had built especially for his wife with lung disease.

The siren of the volunteer fire brigade is on the roof , otherwise the building is empty.
