Bligny-sur-Ouche

Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre in Bligny-sur-Ouche (Département Côte-d'Or , Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté ) is a basically Romanesque church. It was originally the chapel of the 1478 on the orders of Louis XI. ruined castle. Today's building goes back to a church that was probably built at the end of the 11th century in place of a previous building dating back to Merovingian times, from which the tower with blind arches and sound arcades (see Chapaize ) and parts of the nave have been preserved. The side aisles with narrow lancet windows were added in the early 13th century. The stone spire was put on in the 15th century and the three apses on the west side are ingredients from the 19th century. Today's entrance is on the east side of the rectangular choir . The lack of clerical windows and the rectangular choir are reminiscent of Bard-le-Régulier and thus of the Cistercian architecture of Fontenay .
