The St. Jacobus Hospital Vilnius (lit. Vilniaus Šv. Jokūbo ligoninė ) was a hospital in Vilnius , Lithuania . It was located in the Lukiškės district .

history

In 1808, the St. Jacobus Hospital in Vilnius was built after the hospitals in Vilnius were reorganized. The sick were housed in the Dominican monastery. From 1812 there was a military hospital here . The Charité nuns ( Vincent von Paul sisters) cared for it until 1867 . From 1915 to 1919 the hospital was closed and in 1919 it was handed over to the Vilnius Municipality Council . The hospital was closed again from 1941 to 1944. From 1944 to 1990 there was the First Soviet Clinical City Hospital Vilnius in what was then Soviet Lithuania . In 2003 the hospital was reorganized. The departments were transferred to Vilnius City Clinical Hospital and Vilnius Republic University Hospital . On April 8, 2004, the hospital was closed.
