Wilhelm Haarmann (public prosecutor)
Karl Theodor August Wilhelm Haarmann (born July 5, 1845 in Witten , † August 16, 1924 in Dortmund ) was a German public prosecutor and politician.
Life
Wilhelm Haarmann studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . In 1865 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . After completing his studies and military service, he pursued a career as a public prosecutor. From 1891 to 1903 he was the first public prosecutor in Dortmund. In the Landwehr he reached the rank of first lieutenant .
From a by-election on October 12, 1904, Haarmann sat in the Prussian House of Representatives until its dissolution in 1918 . He was a member of the constituency Arnsberg 3 (Altena, Iserlohn; from 1908 Altena, city and district Iserlohn, city district Lüdenscheid). From 1905 to 1919 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia as well as a city councilor in Dortmund and a member of the Westphalia Mountain Committee.
Haarmann was a member of the National Liberal Party and belonged to the board of directors or the central board of the party from 1887 to 1917.
