St. Joseph Church (Qala)
The St. Joseph Church ( Maltese Knisja Parrokjali tal-Immakulata Kunċizzjoni u San Ġużepp , English Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph ) is the Roman Catholic parish church of Qala on the island of Gozo, which belongs to Malta . It is listed under number 1035 in the National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands .

Qala was raised to a parish on February 3, 1872 - the first after the establishment of the Diocese of Gozo . Initially, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady served as the seat of the parish. Under pastor Dun Ġużepp Diacono, who later also designed the Church of the Savior in Għasri, the foundation stone for a new building was laid on March 19, 1882. Seven years later the construction was completed. His consecration took place on May 8, 1904. From 1943 to 1966 the church was enlarged. On April 21, 1965, the parish was elevated to an archpresbytery .

Like many other places of worship in Malta, St. Joseph's Church is built in the neo-baroque style.
The facade is strictly symmetrical. At the corners of the building there are pilasters with capitals decorated with foliage. A frieze in the form of a garland extends over the entire facade . Below is a series of blind windows supported by a balustrade . The central entrance portal is surmounted by a triangular pediment supported by columns with Ionic capitals.
