The St. Martins Church is an Evangelical Lutheran church building in the Raven district of the Soderstorf municipality in the Lüneburg district in Lower Saxony .

history

Not much is known about the history of the Church. The first church was probably built around 1200. It was first mentioned between 1250 and 1253. The current church dates from 1400–1420. The tower was added around 1600.

Furnishing

  • The altar was made in the 15th century.
  • The pulpit was built in the 16th century.
  • The gallery also dates from the 16th century. It has a remarkable feature in the pattern.
  • The organ was built in 1965 by the organ maker Klaus Becker.

Bells

The bell chamber

Two historically valuable bells hang in the massive west tower of the church . The big bell dates back to the Gothic period and is likely to be the oldest dated bell in the Lüneburg district. The small bell dates from the Baroque period .
