The church

The Protestant village church of St. Aegidius is located in the western district of Kleinballhausen in the municipality of Ballhausen in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

history

The village church in Kleinballhausen was built around 1500. A round arched opening in the east wall of the church tower suggests the remains of a previous medieval building . The church was rebuilt in baroque style in the 18th century . The weathered relief on the church wall also points back to an ancient time. In the entrance to the village church there is the name plaque of the victims of the Second World War .

In 2006 the nave roof was repaired .
