St. Anna (Lochau)
The St. Anna Church is the Protestant church in the village of Lochau in the municipality of Schkopau in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the parish area Dieskau in the parish of Halle-Saale district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
The present church was essentially built in 1792, although its core is older. The hall church has a steeple with a rectangular plan to the west of the nave. In the upper part the tower is octagonal and has a tail hood with a lantern . The church is accessed through a tower portal on the west side. On the east side of the nave there is a three-sided closure, to the north a patron's box with a baroque portal.
The interior of the church is spanned by a hollow ceiling. The furnishings are uniform in the classicism style . Particularly noteworthy are the pulpit altar with Ionic columns , a two-story horseshoe gallery on the north side and the baptismal frame . The church also has a sacrament niche . The epitaph for Johann Wilhelm von Lüder , who died in 1792, has been preserved on the south side of the nave . The organ was built in 1874.
An epitaph of Colonel Hans von Dieskau, who died in 1563, as a relief figure in armor is attached to the outside of the east side of the church. A baroque grave stele is located near the southern entrance to the cemetery.
