description

Floor plan of St. Anna

The first mention of a chapel in Siebnach is from 1419 as "Our Women Egart", i.e. St. Mary's Church. In its place, an octagonal central building, a so-called choir tower church , was built in 1682 under Johann Schmuzer . The walls are divided by double pilasters . Inside there is a flat ceiling from 1856, which covers the dome ceiling that Schmuzer had implemented. The rectangular choir contains a groin vault . The choir is located on the ground floor of the church tower attached to the east .

The church tower with an octagonal tower is closed off by a pointed helmet .

The altar with the painting Maria with her parents from 1683 comes from the time around 1720. The picture shows the church patron saint St. Anna who teaches the Holy Scriptures to the mother of God together with her husband, St. Joachim. In the extract from the altar the risen Christ is shown as he appears to Mary . The few stucco work is by Johann Schmuzer and is from the years 1720/1730. Stucco is on the choir arch and over the windows of the octagon.

On the west side of the church there is a memorial stone for Maria Kunigunde Koller. The stone was set in 1789 by their seven children, two of whom were Premonstratensians in Steingaden and Schäftlarn, an Augustinian canon in Rottenbuch and a nun in the Dominican convent in Altenhohenau am Inn.
