Church in Meschede-Grevenstein

The Catholic parish church of St. Antonius Einsiedler is a listed church building in Grevenstein , a district of Meschede in the Hochsauerlandkreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . Count Wilhelm von Arnsberg had the chapel built in 1327 as an extension to his Grevenstein castle. The old part of the choir room, which was extended by a yoke in 1937, probably originates from this.

The building is a three-bay hall church with a west tower, this was the left tower of the former castle. It was built in the late transition style to Gothic with pointed arched windows and massive cylindrical columns. Remnants of modest baroque furnishings can still be seen. The three-part bell rings in g'-b'-c "and was cast in Brilon special bronze by Albert Junker in 1948. A small Klepp bell in a" hangs in the roof turret.
