The Catholic parish church of St. Antonius Einsiedler and St. Vitus is a church building in Herdringen , a district of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), which characterizes the town.

History and architecture

The previous church was built from 1883 to 1884 under the direction of Arnold Güldenpfennig . The choir and transept were demolished.

Today's church is a square extension, which was built from 1962 to 1963 with a trapezoidal choir according to plans by the architect Heinrich Stiegemann . The stone walls are structured by pilaster strips and arched windows and create a traditional image. The gable roofs on the choir and the nave merge into the tent roof of the new square room.

In the interior, the ridges of the wooden-paneled sloping ceilings protrude. The choir room is only lit from one side. The colored glazing is the work of Wilhelm de Graaff and Nikolaus Bette and was installed in 1963. The liturgical furnishings come from Heinrich Gerhard Bücker.
