It shows motifs from the history of creation around the central figure of the risen Christ in front of a solar disk .

history

The patronage of the martyr couple Chrysanthus and Daria is linked to the first Haan church, the beginnings of which go back to the 10th century. She had been evangelically reformed since the time of the Reformation .

For the Catholic community, which gradually emerged again in the 19th century, the feast of St. Chrysanthus and Daria, on October 25, 1856, a first provisional church service room in the Haus zum Dorn was consecrated. From 1867 onwards, a church in the form of a small neo-Gothic basilica with a turret could be built, which Archbishop Paulus Melchers consecrated on June 25, 1869. For the community, which grew by leaps and bounds after the Second World War, the current building was finally built next to the old church on the parish property, after which the previous church was demolished.
