Who is also dedicated to St. The predecessor building of today's church, consecrated to George, was built between 1483 and 1493 in an old hill fort north of the village, made of stones from the abandoned Müelte Monastery . It may also have had a previous building.

The hall church was built in 1847 from rubble stones in the neo-Romanesque style. The design came from the construction manager Schulze and was made in 1843 and revised by the government master builder Friedrich August Ritter . The church is similar to the Rothenburg village church built in 1844 . To the west of the nave is the church tower with a square floor plan. A semicircular apse is added to the east side of the nave .

Inside the church there is a horseshoe gallery from the second half of the 19th century. The interior of the church was painted in 1926 by the Halle artist Karl Völker . In the apse there is a depiction of Christ as the Good Shepherd. An altar shrine with carved figures dates back to around 1500. The figures, which were only put together later, show John the Evangelist and Saint Jerome. A wooden crucifix dates back to the 15th century . The ends of the cross arms are square and have incised symbols of evangelists. These older pieces of equipment come from the previous building.

The pulpit and baptismal font of the church date from the second half of the 19th century. An organ from the time the church was built was repaired in 1950, but later destroyed by vandalism during the GDR era . In 2003 the church received a new organ.

In the register of monuments of the municipality Wettin-Löbejün the church is registered as an architectural monument under registration number 094 55122.
