The Benes Peak is a 2520 m high and almost completely snow-covered mountain in Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises 6.5 km east of Mount Aldaz in the Usas Escarpment .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it in 1959 while exploring the Executive Committee Range . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain after Norman Stanley Bene (1921-2002), a meteorologist for the United States Antarctic Research Program at Byrd Station in 1961.
