Parish Church of St. George
High altar

St. Georg is the Catholic parish church of the Upper Bavarian community of Otterfing .

Building

The church building was built in late Gothic style around 1530 at the latest . During restoration work in 1892, however, there were indications that it was built at the end of the 15th century. The tower followed in 1584 according to plans by the Bavarian court architect Friedrich Sustris .

Furnishing

The high altar is baroque and is attributed to the Dietramszell sculptor Kaspar Niederreiter . A drawing by Sustris apparently served as the draft, as the altar is clearly similar to that of the Michaeliskirche in Munich. Two side altars were added in the 18th century, the right one with St. Sebastian as the main figure and the left with a Gothic figure of Mary .

War memorial chapel

A memorial chapel was built in 1922 at the south entrance to the cemetery. It contains a copper relief by the Munich art blacksmith Kiene . The chapel was inaugurated on November 17, 1922.
