history

In 1267 a chapel on a ledge, the Narrenstein , was first mentioned in Bleiberg-Kreuth, further mentions of a church in 1498 and 1513.

Building

The church with nave, choir and the massive tower in the northern choir corner date from the second half of the 14th or the beginning of the 15th century. The church tower has ogival, partially fluted sound openings and a pointed helmet. The sacristy joins the tower to the north. The pointed arch windows in the choir and nave come partly from the time it was built. The neo-Gothic west portal with a pointed arch and finial is the main entrance to the church.

A ribbed vault from around 1500 spans the three-bay nave on short countersunk cores with four square, one round and two heraldic keystones ; above the later, western gallery yoke, a barrel vault , which is separated from the ship by a belt arch on strong wall pillars. The wooden organ gallery stands on octagonal wooden supports. A pointed arch niche is embedded in the north wall of the eastern yoke. The deeply drawn down triumphal arch with pointed arch opening connects the nave with the drawn-in, two-bay choir with ribbed vault on small consoles and a 3/8 end. A pointed arch portal on the north wall of the choir leads into the sacristy.

Furnishing

The neo-Gothic inventory comes mainly from the last third of the 19th century. The high altar with the statues of Emperor Heinrich II, his wife Kunigunde and St. Mary Magdalene , the two side altars and the four angels on consoles from 1896 and 1876 are by Johann Zernatto. The figures on the left side altar, Saint Joseph with child, Saint Bartholomew and Barbara and on the right side altar the figures of Saints Mary , Peter and Paul from 1869 come from Alois Gap (p), the statue of Saint Florian and the Sacred Heart of Jesus -Statue on the nave wall from 1897 and 1900 by Ferdinand Prinot (h). The font , the tabernacle cross and six candlesticks are from 1896 by Emil Mehlhofer. The organ from 1872 is the work of Josef Grafenauer.

The baroque statues of Saints Heinrich and Kunigunde from the end of the 17th century, which originally stood in the niches of the cemetery portal, are in safekeeping.
