St. Heinrich is the parish church of the Catholic parish of St. Heinrich in Paderborn .

The parish of St. Heinrich, together with St. Bonifatius and St. Stephanus , St. Laurentius, St. Georg and Herz Jesu, forms the Paderborn North-East- West Pastoral Association in the Paderborn Dean's Office of the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

history

The church building was built between 1954 and 1955 according to plans by Josef Lucas .

The congregation was founded on December 1, 1955 to relieve the cathedral community. At that time there were around 3700 Catholics in the congregation who were given their center in the church, which was consecrated on November 19, 1956.

With the establishment of the St. Stephen parish in 1975, around 400 Catholics were "given" to this new community.

To date, three pastors have served in St. Heinrich: Rev. Helms, Rev. Brinkmann and Rev. Belke. Today, Pastor Stolz is the head of the Paderborn North-East-West Pastoral Association and the pastoral team is responsible for all five parishes in the association.

Today 3,950 Catholics belong to the parish of St. Heinrich.

The Association of Friends of the Heinrichskirche Paderborn has existed for a number of years to support the community and is supposed to provide financial support to the community in the maintenance and care of the buildings.

When the cathedral got its cast steel bell in 1951, the bells a '' and h '' came to St. Heinrich and were the only bell in the church for over 50 years until the big bells were cast.
