Parish Church of St. Helena

The Catholic parish church of St. Helena is a listed church building in Helenabrunn , a district of the district town of Viersen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

History and architecture

A chapel from the 17th century with two yokes and a three-sided end was incorporated as a choir . The three-aisled neo-Gothic brick hall with a western tower in front was built in 1843 according to plans by Lüdke. The sacristy is in the apex of the choir. The mosaics in the choir were added in 1922.

Furnishing

  • On the side altars are carved reredos, which were made in the workshop of O. Mengelberg in 1871.
  • The pulpit from the middle of the 17th century is decorated with cartilage and the figures of the evangelists.
  • The organ was built in 1913.
