The Evangelical Lutheran village church St. Jakobus is located in the municipality of Fambach in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .

history

Around 1500 the old Romanesque chapel was converted into a Gothic style church . The oldest bell is from this time .

A second extension was built in 1616 in the Renaissance style . The galleries are testimony . The church was gradually refurbished. In 1723 the new organ was inaugurated. The font is from the late Renaissance . The tower clock is from 1582. The altar and pulpit cover are wonderful works from this period. The church was also well served artistically. Two brothers from Tann gave the church a special face with large pictures.
