St. Jakobus (Recklinghausen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St. James Chapel

St. Jakobus is a chapel in Recklinghausen , Sundern .

The exact year of construction is unknown. The chapel seems to have been donated in the 15th century. A restoration report of the dilapidated chapel from 1611 contains the first written reports. It can therefore be assumed that the building is significantly older. The chapel is a small building in the Renaissance style . It has a single nave with a 3/8 end, with a sloped roof and a small roof turret . The windows and the entrance are flat arched.

In the chapel there is an image of St. James from the 17th century.

In 1963/64 the church and altar were restored.
