The tower , which has been modified several times, dominates the church from the west . The tower is covered by a hexagonal, slate-roofed helmet . As a balanced example of neo-Gothic building as well as a parish church of a large community for religious-historical and architectural-historical reasons.

The former parish church of St. Josef was converted into a Church of the Holy Sepulcher by the architect Burkhard Schrammen. Tombs have taken over the former places of the rows of banks. They were used as space-creating elements and respond to the existing construction grid of the building.
