St. Laurentius (Erdorf)
The parish church of St. Laurentius is the Catholic church in Bitburg 's Erdorf district . It was built between 1896 and 1897 according to the plans of the architect Reinhold Wirtz and occupies a central place in the village structure. Even before it was built, there was a church building in Erdorf, which was about 100 m west of the current building. An abandoned churchyard area extends south of the parish church of St. Laurentius.

The parish church of St. Laurentius consists of a neo-Gothic hall building, which is adjoined by a facade tower. The hall contains a transept with a retracted choir . It is framed by tall pointed arched windows with double lancets including three passes. As is typical of the age, the church is clad with red sandstone blocks . Inside the church, the builder used Gothic stylistic devices in the 15th century. A wood-carved tabernacle altar with the four saints Luzia, Stephanus, Laurentius and Barbara, which has been preserved from the construction period, should be mentioned here.
The side altar in the south transept, created under the influence of Art Nouveau at the beginning of the 20th century, offers space for a Sacred Heart figure. There was also a side altar in the north transept, although only partially preserved. The other equipment includes a neo-Gothic baptismal font (next to the main altar), a confessional from 1890 and the organ built in 1920 on the wooden gallery. Once walled into the sacristy , the sandstone figures of the altarpiece, which date from the 15th century, have now disappeared.
A hexagonal baptismal font from 1804 was transferred from the previous building into the tower hall of the new church. A picture of St. Peter and a bell from 1551, which is only used on festive days, also come from the previous church.
