history

At first there was a simple wooden church building in Oehrberg, which was replaced by a new building in 1824 because it was in disrepair from the beginning of the 19th century; but evidence suggests that a church in Oehrberg already existed around 1790. At the request of the Oehrberg City Council, the Bavarian King Ludwig I granted the new church from 1824 extensive financial support.

In 1974/75 there was an extensive renovation with an extension of the church; the new inauguration took place on April 25, 1975 by Auxiliary Bishop Alfons Kempf .

The St. Ludwig Church has two altars. The left altar, made in 1652, originally comes from the Thulba monastery and depicts the crucifixion of Christ . It is unclear when it was brought to St.Ludwig's church , but possibly in the years 1818/19. The other altar is at the interface between the old and the new church wing and shows the resurrection of Jesus Christ .

The church had only one bell from 1942 to 1975 after one bell became unusable in 1925 and one had to be delivered in World War II. Since 1975 there are again three bells with the tones c sharp, e, and f sharp. They result in a Te Deum motif.
