2005 IDM season
At the International German Motorcycle Championship 2005 titles were awarded in the IDM Superbike , IDM Supersport , IDM 125 and IDM Sidecar classes.
16 races were held in the Superbikes, in the Supersport class, 125 cm³ class and in the Sidecars eight races.
Distribution of points
The world champion will be the driver or manufacturer who has accumulated the most points in the world championship by the end of the season. When distributing points, the placements are taken into account in the overall result of the respective race. The top fifteen drivers in each race receive points according to the following scheme:

All the results achieved were included in the evaluation. With less than 50%, but more than 25% of the total rounds, only 50% of the points are awarded. There are no points below 25%.
Superbike

- Ralf Waldmann made his racing comeback in the IDM Superbike after a three-year break and competed for the alpha Technik Van Zon Honda Team on a Honda Fireblade.
