Michael Ranseder
Michael "Michi" Ranseder (born April 7, 1986 in Antiesenhofen , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian motorcycle racer .
Career
Ranseder began his motorsport career in 1993 in motocross . In 1997 he became Austrian champion in the class up to 60 cm³. In 2002 he switched to road racing and immediately became runner-up in the ADAC Junior Cup behind Sascha Haller . In the following year he switched to the German motorcycle road championship and achieved sixth overall place in the class up to 125 cm³. In 2004 he became German champion in that class on a KTM . He also took a wildcard for Red Bull KTM two races of the FIM - Motorcycle World Championship in the class up to 125 cc in part. In the 2005 season Ranseder was able to post his first World Cup counter after four wildcard appearances. In the same year he was one point behind his teammate Stefan Bradl German runner-up in the 125cc class.
In 2006 Michael Ranseder played his first full season in the world championship. After KTM's resignation, he started the 2007 season , which he finished twelfth overall with 73 points, for the Finnish Ajo Motorsport team on a 125cc Derbi . The 2008 season denied Ranseder on an Aprilia in the Italian team of Fiorenzo Caponera. The 2009 season took Ranseder the newly formed team HAOJUE in the 125cc class in attack. Since the manufacturer withdrew his team from the French Grand Prix , the Austrian started for his new employer, the CBC Corse team from Italy, from the German Grand Prix .
In his 69 starts in the motorcycle world championship, Michael Ranseder achieved 120 points and a fastest race lap .
In 2010 he switched back to the International German Championship and was vice-champion in the Supersport class on a Yamaha behind the Australian Damian Cudlin . In the following year he was promoted to the superbike class and started with a BMW . With his team Fritze Tuning Lietz Sport , Ranseder was able to win the runner-up title again in 2011 and 2012 . In the first year he had to admit defeat to his compatriot Martin Bauer on a BMW S 1000 RR , in 2012 he narrowly failed to the French Erwan Nigon . For the 2013 season Ranseder switched to the Honda Holzhauer Racing Promotion Team and was runner-up in this class for the third time in a row on a Honda CBR 1000 RR - this time clearly beaten by Markus Reiterberger .
