reception

"Marcus Roloff [...] an excellent poetic geodesist, skilled in mapping 'permanent landscapes', demonstrates [...] not only his passion for deciphering visual constellations, but also his interest in overwriting traditional myths."

- Michael Braun , Poetry Pocket Calendar 2013

"If after all the swan songs on history, narrative and subject, on the possibility of knowledge and the definitive turning away from all progressive poetry from naive belief in images, any lyrical realism is still possible, then perhaps that of Marcus Roloff."

- Hendrik Jackson , Signature Magazine, 2015

“Instead, Roloff is about [...] common, everyday words: They are everywhere, easy to find, their meaning is quickly grasped; they are, so to speak, basic exercises in denotation - and yet, you don't know how, Marcus Roloff turns them into incomprehensible lexemes: into mysteriously deep, dark, prismatic, trawl-like terms, on which the multitude of ambivalent meanings of an entire biography is fixed. "
