In 1315 there was a Romanesque church built from bricks in Swabia . In 1474 a small Gothic church was consecrated, which was oriented to the east on the site of today's maypole. It was dedicated to the two apostles Philip and James .

In 1671, 20 meters southeast of the previous one, construction began on the new parish church, consecrated to St. Margaret . The famous Miesbacher Georg Zwerger was hired as the master builder . The choice of St. Margaret, the patroness of the judiciary, as patron saint of the church, referred to the regional court, which was then located in Swabia Castle. The church took ten years to build. 1704 donated Confraternity of the Rosary the Lady altar . In 1718 the Virgin Altar (with the Saints Agathe, Barbara and Katharina), the Josefialtar and the Antonius Altar were created. In 1723 the brewer Trappentreu had the high altar fitted with a new attachment and tabernacle and richly gilded. In 1862 the church was renovated, whereby the original high altar painting was exchanged for the present one from the Nazarene School and has remained undetectable to this day. In 1873 the church got a new organ . In 1975 a new, extensive restoration took place, whereby the church on the south side (Erdinger Straße) had to be deeply underpinned due to the vibrations of the car traffic. The chancel with a people's altar and ambo was also redesigned during this period . In the mid-1990s, the church tower threatened to be torn down from the nave. In 1999 the wood worm was successfully tackled, in 2003 the entire electronics were brought up to date and a radio clock was installed for the tower clock. In 2009/2010 repairs were carried out such as the renovation of the gallery , the church roof including the vaulted ceiling and tower.

Bells

View from the west

The first bell consisted of three new, unknown, cast by Paul Kopp in Munich in 1684 and one bronze bell (cis 2 ) taken from the old church (1585 ). In 1911 the farming couple Hundseder donated a four-part bronze bell, cast by the bell foundry in Erding as a Salve Regina motif in the strike tone sequence d 1 - f sharp 1 - a 1 - b 1 . With the keynote d 1 , this was a stately chime for rural conditions at that time and a population of just 1,800, which was suspended in a massive wooden bell chair on straight wooden yokes.

While it was possible to keep the bells in World War I , they were melted down in 1942 to make weapons during World War II . The old train bell (cis 2 ) from 1585 was even sacrificed .

In 1948 the parish church received a "replacement bell" , which is still used today, in the usual tone sequence made of cast steel , cast by the Bochum Association , which is hung on cranked steel yokes in a steel bell chair. According to stories, the church keeper at the time, Barmbichler, vehemently opposed a steel bell and a new bronze bell; without success. The so-called “post-war bells” made of steel have proven to be critical and cost-intensive since the 1980s due to broken yokes, broken handles, loose bells and the general structure of post-war steel, also with regard to the statics and resilience of the tower.
