St. Martin (Hayn)
The village church of St. Martin in the district is Hayn the rural community Grammetal in district Weimarer Land in Thuringia .

history
The church was first mentioned in a document in 1324 . Everything points to an own church of the then landlord . In 1608 and 1768 new buildings were built on the property. In 1875 after a church fire, the church was rebuilt. In 1907 the painter-like repairs took place.
From 1970, there was no more church service in Hayn . The church served as a construction warehouse for 25 years and was on the verge of decay.
The turn
- The association Hayner Kirche eV and the faithful with citizens began to rebuild with the help of funds.
- The first service took place in 1999. The church tower was inaugurated and the bells rang again.
- In 2001 the church was consecrated again by Regional Bishop Christoph Kähler in the presence of Prime Minister Bernhard Vogel .
- The badly damaged organ is not yet playable.
