St. Martin in Marzling

St. Martin is the Catholic parish church of Marzling in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising .

The core of the church dates from the Middle Ages. The interior of the church is divided into a choir and nave . The latter was extended in 1864. To the south of the choir is the church tower with a gable roof . The sacristy is located on its ground floor . Late Gothic wall paintings (around 1500) were uncovered there in 1980 . The church was redesigned in the baroque era . The stucco in the choir room probably also dates from this time.

The main altar is dedicated to the patron saint of Saint Martin of Tours . The altarpiece shows the most famous scene from Martin's life, the sharing of the cloak with the beggar. The picture is flanked by two baroque figures of Saints Sebastian and Rochus . Another picture shows Saint Florian .

There are two side altars in the church. One is dedicated to Mary . There is a sculpture of Mary there, which was probably made at the end of the 19th century. The second side altar is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra . This altar is adorned with a picture of the saint by Johann Baptist Deyrer from 1766.
