Church building

A Romanesque chapel from the 12th century is known; it was rebuilt and enlarged in the 14th century. The bell tower is made of wood.

The sacred space of the church is painted with Gothic frescoes from the 15th century, which were only exposed again in 1898. Between 1661 and 1898 the paintings were whitewashed. Above the altar is a depiction of Christ (with a crown, scepter and blue cloak), as he crowns Mary Queen of Heaven, accompanied by the apostles with their attributes. On the left are depictions of Paul (with sword and book) as well as Peter (with key), James the Younger and Judas Thaddäus . On the right side are John (with chalice and book), James the Elder (with staff) as well as Matthew and Bartolomäus .

Next to the door to the sacristy , Nicholas is depicted as the bishop of Myra ; further depictions of him can be found in the north of the choir . On the choir wall, which points to the altar, a representation of Nicholas can be seen as the spiritual patron who blesses Nicholas the Lord of Cramm. He had given the community 2 farms and made them independent. An epitaph in the choir from 1579 commemorates Aschwin von Cramm, his wife Anna and their son. It shows the family in prayer. A baptismal angel donated in 1679 hovers on the left side of the Gothic arch to the choir . The church's baroque altar dates from 1678 and depicts the Lord's Supper , the Resurrection and the Ascension .
