description

Amtmannsdorf, from time immemorial a branch of the original parish Kottingwörth , was parish there in 1792 after the establishment of the parish Paulushofen . The church of St. Nicholas is a Romanesque complex that was built around 1194 and fundamentally rebuilt in 1896. The choir with a cross vault is located in the square east tower, which barely protrudes above the nave (with a helmet and two bells from the 16th and 18th centuries), the nave with a flat ceiling was extended in 1896 by 3.80 m to the west. The flat ceiling, modeled on the early Baroque, with its geometric stucco pattern also dates from 1896. The two-column high altar with a Nazarene image of the church's patron as bishop came into the sacred building at the end of the 18th century, as did the figures of St. Ambrose and St. Augustine , both in bishop's robes, who have stood at the high altar of the church in Paulushofen since the beginning of the 20th century. The crescent moon Madonna was probably carved around 1500. Other sculptures represent John the Baptist , St. Willibald and St. Nicholas.
