The church

The village church of St. Nikolaus is located in Unterbodnitz , a district of the municipality of Oberbodnitz in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Kahla Hummelshain in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The magnificent hall church with reddish sandstones and arched windows was built in 1841/42 . In 1877 it received a church tower with a staircase in the historical style on the west side .

Interior

Inside the ship has classicist-neo-Gothic features. In the revolving loft which is pulpit altar integrated. Alongside the gallery is two-story. The ceiling painting with the theme of the Transfiguration of Jesus . It was created in 1872. In the 19th century, the Poppe company from Stadtroda installed the organ .

Rectory

The former rectory is now the winter church.
