St. Peter (Hinsbeck)
The Catholic parish church of St. Peter is a listed church building in Hinsbeck , a district of Nettetal in the Viersen district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The neo - Gothic three - aisled brick hall with a transept and three choir polygons was built from 1863 to 1867 according to plans by Vinzenz Statz . The west tower in front was built in 1882. In the interior, rib vaults rest over round pillars. The ornamental and figurative lead glass windows were made by Johannes Beeck in 1967 .
Furnishing
- The high altar , the southern side altar, the confessionals, the stalls and the organ gallery have been preserved from the 19th century furnishings .
- In 1950 the church received two bronze bells from the renowned Otto bell foundry from Bremen-Hemelingen. The two bells sound on the following notes: f sharp '- a'. They have the following diameters: 1105 mm and 930 mm and weigh 844 kg and 518 kg.
- The Stations of the Cross were created in 1967 by J. Rübsam .
From the church that was demolished in 1868
- The bronze baptismal font was cast by a master Jan in 1441. The bowl-shaped basin stands on a foot carried by three lions. The brass lid was cast in the 18th century.
- The triumphal cross consists of a renewed cross and a life-size wooden crucifix in very slim proportions. It was carved by the master of Elsloo at the beginning of the 16th century.
