St. Peter and Paul is a listed Catholic church in Hattingen in the Ennepe-Ruhr district , North Rhine-Westphalia . It is located at Bahnhofstraße 11 between Hattingen's old town and Hattingen train station .

The church was built from 1868 to 1870 as a neo-Gothic hall church based on a design by Gerhard August Fischer . The font from the 16th century comes from St. George's Church .

In 1917 the bells were melted down. In 1926 new bells were procured. In 1942 the larger bells were roped down again and removed.

Since 2007, St. Peter and Paul has been the parish church of the merged Catholic parish of St. Peter and Paul, which covers the entire city area. The parish belongs to the deanery Hattingen / Schwelm of the diocese of Essen .
