St. Peter and Paul

The Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul is a listed church building in Straelen .

history

The previous building burned down to the tower in 1386. In 1387 a three-aisled hall with pillars was built. This was enlarged by a basilica half in 1498 . The western part is covered with three parallel gable roofs and the eastern part with a roof pulled down over the aisles. The western part is equipped with ribbed vaults , the eastern part with reticulated vaults .

  • Sacrament house in the choir from 1500 made of white sandstone
  • Choir stalls from the second half of the 15th century
  • Baptismal font around 1200 with Romanesque reliefs
  • Lower Saxon carved altar depicting the life of Mary from 1480
  • Large bell c 1 from 1469 (Johann von Venlo), three more bells (f 1 , 1820, P. Boitel; es 1 and g 1 , 1972, HA Mark)

organ

The organ was built in 1988 by the organ building company Gebrüder Stockmann (Werl) in an old, neo-Gothic case . The registers of the previous instruments were reused. The instrument has 43 stops on three manuals and a pedal . The game contractures are mechanically, the Registertrakturen are electric.
