St. Petersburg White Nights
The St. Petersburg White Nights are a top-class badminton tournament launched in Russia in 1983 .
In 2007 the tournament marked the start of the European scoring series in the BE Circuit , to which it belonged for the first time in the 25-year history of the tournament. The only German participants Thomas Tesche and Jochen Cassel were defeated in the final of the men's doubles in 2007 to the Russians Vitali Durkin and Alexander Nikolajenko 17:21 and 15:21. Despite this defeat in the final, the Germans climbed further up the world rankings with this final.
