Tan Boon Heong (born September 18, 1987 in Alor Setar , Kedah ) is a badminton player from Malaysia .

Career

Tan Boon Heong is an outspoken double specialist and started his career with Hoon Thien How . This pairing won the Junior World Championship and silver at the Asian Championship . Then Koo Kien Keat switched to his side. Together they won the Swiss Open Super Series 2009 and the Denmark Super Series 2007 . They won bronze at the 2009 World Cup . In 2019 Tan Boon Heong won the Perth International .

With 493 km / h Tan Boon Heong set a new world speed record (entry in the Guinness Book of Records ) for the fastest smash in August 2013 . However, this did not take place in an official competition, but under laboratory conditions as part of a racket test by the Japanese manufacturer Yonex . Lee Chong Wei holds the current record for the fastest smash in an official match with 417 km / h.
