history

The patron saint of the sacred building, which is located on Mühlenstrasse in Esperstedt, is Simon Petrus . The church is documented as a parish church around 1400 . The church tower is from the Romanesque , the timber frame portal on the south side of the nave from the Gothic and the windows partly from the Baroque . The western part of the nave probably has a Romanesque origin, as a bricked-up Romanesque portal can be seen right next to the church tower. The church tower has a later built-in west portal.
